We spent the weekend of Valentine’s Day away on a retreat in the sticks out in Mississippi meeting our fellow missionaries on the Genesis College team. It was wonderful for Carla to finally meet the people that Daniel had gotten to know when he taught in Osaka during the summer of last year. Both of us benefited from growing closer to our fellow team members, and we look forward to serving in Japan as soon as possible alongside them. We met the Brunsons who were there to counsel and encourage us, and Bob brought us a devotion from Philippians 3. The Youngs were there to provide their input after 30+ years of missionary work in Japan. Also, fellow team member Yuma Tarui and the Odate family gave us helpful insights about Japanese culture, identity, and history. It was really enjoyable to pray for Japan together and plan the next steps for opening Genesis College in Osaka. Wonderful food and childcare were provided by members of Trinity PCA and Redeemer PCA, and students from Belhaven University. I’m not sure who provided the barn for us to stay in, but they deserve a thank you as well!
Please pray for all of us to be able to get to Japan quickly, and to grow closer together as a team. Please donate to help us move and serve in Japan as soon as possible!
